Art: Final Concept Elle

This is Elle. She is the player character of our upcoming game.

The game is set on the top of snowy mountains, which is why she has very warm clothes. The idea was to give her modern, hipster clothing but of medieval materials. Same goes with her hairstyle. It was important for us to create a female character who was beautiful without being exploitative, and who does not strictly follow the classic female game character stereotype.

Art: Analog drawings

LucidDreams is back in action and working on at least one new title.

In the art department we are experiencing great result with a new pipeline, one that focuses one classic, analog drawings with paper and pencil.

Instead of creating all our concept art digitally, like we have before, we are now experimenting with using really big papers, and draw our characters with a lot of details. This means both artists can work on the same piece simultaneously, on different corners of the paper. We then scan these images and proceed to color them digitally. These past days we have been working on a dragon, called Baltazar, and girl, called Elle. With the girl we are even scanning and printing the image several times and adding more details in every iteration. She is not quite finished yet, but we promise to upload her final design in a few days. Or at least our progress.
